NSP Post Matric Scholarship Students With Disabilities

The NSP Post Matric Scholarship Students With Disabilities is a centrally sponsored scheme launched by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD) under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. The scheme is designed to support students with disabilities (SwDs) who wish to continue their education after Class 10 and pursue higher academic or professional qualifications from recognized institutions across India. The scholarship is available for students studying in Class 11 and 12, ITI courses, diploma programs, undergraduate degrees, and postgraduate programs in institutions recognized by UGC, AICTE, or other competent authorities.

Who Can Apply for the Scholarship?

To be eligible for the NSP Post Matric Scholarship Students With Disabilities, applicants must meet the following conditions:

  1. The applicant must be a student with a disability of 40% or more, certified under the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
  2. The student should be pursuing a post-matric course, including: Class 11 or Class 12, ITI, Polytechnics, and post-matric diploma or certificate courses, Bachelor’s degree or diploma programs and Master’s degree or diploma programs.
  3. The institution must be recognized by UGC, AICTE, or a relevant regulatory body.
  4. The annual family income of parents or guardians from all sources should not exceed ₹2.50 lakh.
  5. The applicant must not be receiving any other government scholarship or stipend.
  6. A maximum of two children from one family can avail of this scholarship (except in the case of twins).

Step-by-Step Online Application Process

Students can apply online through the National Scholarship Portal by following these steps:

Visit scholarships.gov.in and click on “New Registration.”

Read the registration guidelines and accept the undertaking to proceed.

Fill in the registration form carefully and submit it – Log in using the Application ID and password, verify via OTP, and reset the password..

Note down the Application ID and password, which will also be sent via SMS.

Fill out the scholarship application form, and upload required documents.

Save the form as draft or final submit after verification.

  1. Recent passport-size photograph
  2. Proof of age (Birth certificate or Class 10 certificate)
  3. Valid Disability Certificate under RPwD Act, 2016
  4. Income Certificate issued by competent authority

  7. Bank account details of applicant or parent/guardian
